Many of our readers are familiar with the Premier Paint Sires program that’s brought big purses and competitive classes to APHA shows around the country. Today marked the inaugural Premier Quarter Sires classes that are being held at the Cornhusker Classic in Lincoln, Nebraska, June 15-19.
The first class on the docket for today was the PQS 3-Year-Old Limited Horse Limited Rider Western Pleasure with 18 entries. The guaranteed payout for this class was $25,000 with only a $250 entry fee. The payout extended to tenth place.
Winning the class was Lara Yungclas aboard He’s Lazy No Doubt for owner Tanna Petersak. He’s Lazy No Doubt is by No Doubt I’m Lazy and out of Petite Seductress. The team took home $8,000 for the win. The Reserve Champion was Shelby Cochran aboard Winning Instincts, a horse sired by Sudden Instinct and out of Winners Always Flirt. The team was presented with a $5,000 for their second place finish.

3rd Place – $3,000 – Red Chocolate. Sired by VS CODE RED and out of Chocolate Cravings. Owned by Jeffrey Klein and Marilyn Allen and shown by Laura Spell.
4th Place – $2,500 – No Doubt Faithful. Sired by NO DOUBT IM LAZY and out of Assetsination. Owned by Ronald and Maggie Fransen and and shown by Sara Fransen.
5th Place – $2,000 – VS AnAwesomeLegacy. Sired by VS CODE RED and out of Customerily Awesome. Owned by Shannon Williamsn and shown by Travis Duit.
6th Place – $1,500 – One Hot Krymsun Kiss. Sired by ONE HOT KRYMSUN and out of Delitas Good Version. Owned by Sue Voss and shown by Jess Bergantzel.
7th Place – $1,000 – No Good Deed. Sired by ONE HOT KRYMSUN and out of YouNeverLookedSoGood. Owned by Alex Reisinger and shown by Carli Pitts.
8th Place – $850 – Six Ways From Sundi. Sired by VS CODE RED and out of Hotroddin On Sundi. Owned by Liz Rice and shown by Blake Weis.
9th Place – $650 – Shez Extremely Hot. Sired by EXTREMELY HOT CHIPS and out of A Good Bar Maid. Owned by Dave Nitz and shown by Hannah Lind.
10th Place – $500 – Fire Away. Sired by EXTREMELY HOT CHIPS and out of Gota Lota Fashion. Owned and shown by Mallory Menard.
The second class of the day was the Premier Quarter Sires Limited Horse Limited Rider Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle Maturity. The Champion was Shelby Cochran aboard Just Sleep On It, by Too Sleepy To Zip and out of Just Lope Me. The pair was presented with $1,800. The Reserve Champion was Stephanie Manhart with Hoo Wants To Dance, by Hot Ones Only and out of Captive Dancer. This team was presented with a check for $1,400. Third place was Heather Maas with Rockin In The Irons, by These Irons Are Hot and out of A Certifiable Raquel. They received $800.
Champion – $1,800 – Just Sleep On It. Sired by TOO SLEEPY TO ZIP and out of Just Lope Me. Owned by Lisa Feinberg and shown by Shelby Cochran.
Reserve Champion – $1,400 – Hoo Wants To Dance. Sired by HOT ONES ONLY and out of Captive Dancer. Owned and shown by Stephanie Manhart.
3rd Place – $800 – Rockin In The Irons. Sired by THESE IRONS ARE HOT and out of A Certifiable Raquel. Owned and shown by Heather Maas.
