That’s a wrap on the 2023 Nutrena West AQHA Level 1 Championships! AQHA exhibitors from 22 states and two Canadian provinces competed for championship titles at the Nutrena West AQHA Level 1 Championships, which were held May 16-21 in conjunction with the Arizona Quarter Horse Association Pinnacle Circuit at WestWorld in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Over 370 exhibitors and more than 400 horses competed in western, English and halter classes, totaling 2,222 entries. AQHA also welcomed 173 first-time Level 1 Championships exhibitors. Competitors vied for top honors across a full slate of Level 1, Rookie and walk-trot classes, and more than $100,000 in purse and prizes. AQHA also presented the top end-of-show awards to the all-around and high-point award winners.

During the show, AQHA Professional Horsemen volunteered their time to give 5 free Ride the Pattern clinics, presented by Nutrena. These clinics gave exhibitors and spectators the perfect opportunity to learn how AQHA Professional Horsemen would approach a specific class or pattern in Level 1, Rookie and Walk/Trot competition. Thanks to the generosity of the Ride the Pattern clinics attendees, the Professional Horsemen Endowment Fund raised nearly $3,000 in donations.
