An article from NBC 7 San Diego indicating that all horse shows and boarding at the Del Mar Horsepark have been cancelled for 2021, due to toxic groundwater issues, has many worried that the show grounds won’t survive the season.
The article indicated that the group that runs the horse park and fairgrounds, the 22nd District Agricultural Association, said that stopping shows at the park and moving them to the fairgrounds will “give the Board of Directors the opportunity to evaluate the necessary investment required to meet water quality requirements for equestrian activities at Horsepark.”
