Over the years of scouring fashion magazines and blogs, I’ve come to notice that many of the fashion tips being written about I had already learned as a walk trotter. Below you’ll find the seven things I learned about fashion from showing horses.
- Fit is number one. A well-fitting piece slims and accentuates your body, gives you a polished look, and says “I have it together.”
- Quality materials equal a long-lasting product. Top grain leather chaps will last for years and years. The same goes for a leather bag or shoes. If you start with quality materials, the longevity increases. Leather breaks in and becomes better with each wear, unlike synthetic and cheap counterparts that fall apart.
- Quality beats quantity. One amazing well-made outfit or accessory will last you years and can transition through the ever changing fads. Think Ray Ban sunglasses with a timeless shape. They’re well-made and never go out of style.
