About the Speaker

Tom Daniels PhD, is a Professor of City and Regional Planning at the University of Pennsylvania where he teaches land use planning, growth management, environmental planning, and land preservation. Tom holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Oregon State University and a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University. For nine years, Tom managed the farmland preservation program in Lancaster County, PA where he lives. Tom is the co-author of Holding Our Ground: Protecting America’s Farms and Farmland, The Small Town Planning Handbook and The Environmental Planning Handbook. He frequently serves as a consultant to state and local governments and land trusts and is a nationally recognized presenter on planning and zoning issues.
