Welcome EC’s New Online Editor, Delores Kuhlwein

By: Brittany Bevis

Everyone here at The Equine Chronicle would like to extend a very warm welcome to the newest member of our Equine Chronicle family, Delores Kuhlwein, who will be taking over as the online editor this month. In addition to keeping you up to date with all of the latest industry news, show results, galleries, and photos of the day on www.EquineChronicle.com, she will be the new face you will see at all of the majors in 2022 as your show coverage correspondent providing live social media updates, taking around the ring photos, and conducting interviews with winners.

Delores is certainly not new to the magazine, nor the horse industry for that matter. Not only have her articles been published in The Equine Chronicle for many years, this Arizona resident has been a non-pro competitor in APHA and PtHA since 2004 and is married to APHA and PtHA judge and former horse trainer, Mark Kuhlwein.

After retiring from her career as a secondary English/Library Science educator in 2011, Delores began sharing her love of horses through writing. Besides spending quality time with horses, her favorite activity is traveling with her husband and their two German Shepherds.

“To have the opportunity to share the happiness I’ve found in the horse industry with a publication as exceptional as The Equine Chronicle is beyond exciting,” Delores says. “I’ve felt valued as a contributor to The Equine Chronicle for a long time, and I’m thrilled to expand that role as the online editor.”

With Delores taking the reins as the new online editor and show coverage correspondent, that also comes along with longtime editor, Brittany Bevis, taking a step back to resume freelance work- where she first started with The Equine Chronicle 13 years ago.

“The past 13 years working for The Equine Chronicle has been an incredible opportunity and has allowed me to grow, both professionally and personally. I’ve met so many wonderful, friendly, talented people during my time spent in the show ring, as a youth and amateur competitor, and outside the pen by capturing photographs of your most beloved moments of celebration. Having the honor of sharing your stories is a gift that I’m very grateful for.”

“I will continue to contribute articles to the print edition of The Equine Chronicle, so don’t be surprised if you get a call from me now and again…”

Tom Grabe, Publisher of The Equine Chronicle, said, “All of us at Endeavor Publications sincerely thank Brittany for all she has done to help make our company successful. Over the past 13 years, she has made equinechronicle.com the place everyone goes to get industry news and information. Her contributions to our social media channels attracts thousands of readers each day, and her video content draws viewers to equinechronicle.tv.”

“We can’t thank Brittany enough for lending us her talent over the past 13 years, and we look forward to her continued contributions in the future. We wish her and her fiancé the best in the next chapter of their life as they build a family together.”
