AQHA Publicity
The American Quarter Horse Association was notified by its approved laboratory, the University of California-Davis, that the Veterinary Genetics Laboratory is temporarily pausing genetic testing July 5-9 for operation recalibration.
Operation recalibration is an initiative to address deferred equipment maintenance. The Veterinary Genetics Laboratory will be closed on Monday, July 5, in observance of Independence Day. Following the holiday, testing will also be paused July 6-9.
As a result, AQHA customers will experience a delay in processing AQHA business that requires genetic testing. The Association will continue to send samples during this timeframe; however, the samples received during this period will not be processed until after July 12. Additionally, results from case work received the week of June 28 may also be delayed due to the recalibration.
AQHA encourages customers to submit time-sensitive AQHA business accordingly to prevent delays related to genetic testing results.
For additional questions, please contact the AQHA Member Experience Department at 806-376-4811 and select Option 1, Extension 3 for genetic testing from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Customers can also submit a Contact Us form and a Member Experience representative will be happy to assist with your questions.
