Kimes Ranch Announces 2016 Artist Contest Winner
SCOTTSDALE, AZ—Kimes Ranch, an emerging leader in premium denim, launched a contest looking for an up and coming country artist; their biggest contest to date. After a tight race in fan voting, Angie Keilhauer was chosen as the grand prize winner.
Originally from El Salvador, Keilhauer moved to Georgia at the age of eleven. While she has a long history as a musician, her first professional break came from singing on a cruise ship three years ago.
“I’ve been criss-crossing the country ever since!” Keilhauer says. “This past year, my shows caught the attention of a producer from The Voice who asked me to audition. Next thing I knew, I was hugging Blake Shelton!”
Keilhauer was part of a talented field of thirty artists, which was narrowed down to ten through fan voting. These ten artists’ original videos were handed over to Trick Pony for the final decision, where Keilhauer came out on top. Keilhauer heard about the contest through a friend, who knew her musical talent and her love of Trick Pony.
When she found out she was the contest winner, Keilhauer says, “I had been playing a late show the night we were supposed to find out. I checked my phone every break to see if there was any news. The next morning I had about a million texts, and I couldn’t get to the page fast enough!”
The win comes with a full line of prizes. Keilhauer will be the opening act for Trick Pony at the Kimes Ranch VIP concert at the All American Quarter Horse Congress. Pre-concert activities will include a sneak peek acoustic show and autograph signing for the artist.
Along with the concert, Keilhauer will be sponsored by the Kimes Ranch for 2017, receive $500 worth of band merchandise created by the company, a two hour photo shoot with Impulse Photography, and $2,000 in cash.
“Winning this contest has been an incredibly moving process,” says Keilhauer. “To see hundreds of friends and fans that I’ve known for years take the time to share or comment their support throughout the competition really felt pretty inspirational. On top of that to have the respect of Trick Pony, who I’ve been a fan of for years, is almost surreal. Partnering with a company like Kimes Ranch brings so much weight to what I do. There is so much honesty and integrity built into that brand that it inspires me to represent it well. The band and I are so excited.”
Trick Pony will be headlining the VIP concert, an event put on by Kimes Ranch to show appreciation to their customers. The concert kicks off October 22, 2016 at 7pm.
Tickets are exclusive to Kimes Ranch customers. Purchase $120 worth of KRJ gear from one of the fine retailers at Quarter Horse Congress to obtain two tickets. Wear your KRJ gear and strut the red carpet for a chance to win great door prizes.
