The Late Topsail Whiz Becomes NRHA’s First $11 Million Sire

NRHA News- June 10, 2016 – Always in a league of his own, Topsail Whiz has made yet another milestone in the world of Reining. The late Topsail Whiz has now become NRHA’s one and only 11 Million Dollar Sire. Less than two years after hitting the 10 Million Dollar Sire Milestone, the legacy of Topsail Whiz lives on.
Coming from a dynasty of famous reining sires, the 1987 stallion owned by 6- time NRHA Futurity Champion and Hall of Fame Inductee, Bob Loomis Reining Horses was sired by Topsail Cody, an NRHA Million Dollar Sire, and out of Jeanie Whiz Bar (by Cee Red).Topsail Whiz was third in the 1990 NRHA Open Futurity with Loomis at the reins. Topsail Whiz was inducted into the NRHA Hall of Fame in 2003.
Following an outstanding reining career, earning nearly $50,000, he retired to the breeding shed, becoming NRHA’s All-Time Leading Sire based on his money-earning offspring. Having sired several champions in the NRHA Futurity and Derby in both the open and non pro divisions, Topsail Whiz has become a household name in the sport of Reining. Just some of themost well-known offspring sire by Topsail Whiz include: 1996 NRHA Futurity Champion Whizard Jac, 2003 NRHA Futurity Champion The Great Whiz, 2005 NRBC L3 Champion Easy Otie Whiz, 2001 NRHA Derby Reserve Champion West Coast Whiz, 1999 NRHA Derby Champion Topgun Whiz and 2011 NRHA Derby Reserve Champion Whizkey N Diamonds. Topsail Whiz is the sire of Million Dollar Sires West Coast Whiz, Whizard Jac, and Walla Walla Whiz, as well as Two Million Dollar Sires Conquistador Whiz and Whiz N Tag Chex.
