The Equine Professional Manual- The Art of Teaching

Certified Horsemanship Association, also known as CHA, recently released The Equine Professional Manual–The Art of Teaching Riding. The 208-page manual has been developed for instructors of all levels of experience, from rookies to well-established trainers.
The Equine Professional Manual is full of illustrations, photos, lesson plans and geared toward all types of learning styles. This comprehensive manual shares a wide array of teaching styles with instructors to help make them more effective trainers and, thus, helping their clients ride better.
“The Equine Professional Manual-The Art of Teaching Riding was written by riding instructors for riding instructors. It consists of such topics as Developing the Educated Eye, Safety Considerations in Firsts, Lesson Progression; Common Root Problems, Rider Organization in the Arena, Riding Etiquette and more,” CHA Treasurer and Project Committee Chair Terry Williams said. “Experienced instructors will be able to see what needs improvement in a second or two, and pick out one or two corrections or comments to make to each rider every time the instructor looks at the rider. The sections on Common Root Problems and Rider Organization in the Arena will assist less experienced instructors the ability to learn how to accomplish this teaching ability.”
CHA aims to promote excellence in safety and education for the benefit of the entire horse industry through their educational resources, clinics, certifications, and conferences. By promoting equine and training education, they hope to create safer experiences for equine enthusiasts and their horses.
APHA is equally excited by The Equine Professional Manual’s potential, and is pleased to welcome CHA as a 2017 Alliance Partner.

This is the second year of partnership between APHA and CHA. Other APHA Alliance Partners include the National Reining Horse Association, National Snaffle Bit Association, National Reined Cow Horse Association, National Cutting Horse Association and World Conformation Horse Association.
