Mere mention of the highly popular Yellowstone television series generates a chain reaction of delight and enthusiasm among equine enthusiasts, and even the general public. Fans of the Western genre anxiously await each episode, whether it’s the original series, Yellowstone, or 1883, the prequel. It’s no surprise, considering the acclaim of any production listing Taylor Sheridan as creator.
According to Variety magazine, the Yellowstone Season 4 premiere boasted 14.7 million viewers. The 1883 prequel cinched the spot of the biggest new series premiere on cable since 2015.
Both series rely on edge-of-your-seat drama and action, yet the stories told by co-creator, Taylor Sheridan, also contain a more powerful message about the ranching lifestyle and the invaluable role of the horse.
“Ranching is a vital service to this nation, and the horse is an indispensable tool– partner, really – to the business of ranching,” Sheridan explains.
