Two more Congress Champions were crowned in some very competitive Western Pleasure classes this evening at the Quarter Horse Congress. First, Susan Roberts rode Only A Breeze to win Select Western Pleasure. Susan has multiple prior World and Congress Champion titles in this event.
“Abby is so special,” she says. “I couldn’t ask for anything better. She gives you 100% every time. There’s no crabbiness and no crankiness. She is so happy, so it makes me happy. You get her out of her stall, and she has her little ears up all the time looking for treats. I feel like a lot of people could ride her.”
Susan is anxiously looking forward to next year when Abby will have two foals on the ground: one by No Doubt I’m Lazy and one by Nite Moves. “I want baby girls,” she says. “And I’d like them to have her personality and her attitude.”
When it’s time for the foals to be born, Susan will have a beautiful new facility to welcome them home to in Pilot Point, TX. The new location of Capital Quarter Horses, LLC is currently under construction, and Susan hopes to move in by February.
“Our arena is almost complete,” she says. “The sides and the roof are finished; we just have to finish the dirt work. The breeding barn is in process; we have the walls up and some of the stall dividers.”
