Starting at 51… A Photo Essay From a AQHA L1 Championship First-Timer

Wow. There is so much to learn when you weren’t born into this; but, hey, we’re learning quick. We got top 10 Rookie Western Pleasure last year from AQHA. Now, I show in Select Level 1.

Here at the AQHA L1 Championship East, I showed in Select Western Pleasure, in the second split of 46 entries. Then, I had Walk-Trot Horsemanship back-to-back. Ughhh, the stress! Changing clothes on the fly…

This is my first L1 Championship Show. I’m a Rookie and Select Novice Amateur, and this is my first full year of competition.

My mare, She Invests In Signs, and I placed seventh in Aged Mares! Then, we literally ran to another arena and went straight to the cone for  Select Showmanship with 48 entries.
