WACO, Texas – For the first time this season, South Carolina is the nation’s No. 1 collegiate equestrian team according to the latest national team rankings from the National Collegiate Equestrian Association, as determined by the NCEA Selection Committee and announced on Tuesday.
Following a pair of Baylor losses and a South Carolina win against Auburn, the Gamecocks move into the No. 1 spot for the first time this year. Georgia, which defeated Texas A&M on Saturday, moves to No. 2. Baylor drops to No. 3, while TCU is No. 4 and Oklahoma State is No. 5.
Fresno State moves up one spot to No. 6, while Auburn is No. 7. Texas A&M (No. 8), Kansas State (No. 9) and SMU (No. 10) round out the national top-10.
The 2015 NCEA Championship will take place April 15-18 at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas.
