SOQHA Challenge Hosts Huge Event and Awards $10,000 to Deserving Youth

The Southern Ohio Quarter Horse Association Challenge took place March 2-3 in its new location in Springfield, Ohio, with some huge class sizes that helped to award some huge checks to deserving youth competitors. Judges for the show were Chris Jones, Kendra Weis, and Tim Finkenbinder.

• L1 Amateur Western Horsemanship- 20
• Amateur Showmanship- 20
• Youth Performance Halter- 21
• L1 Youth Trail- 21
• Senior Trail-21
• L1 Trail- 24
• L1 Youth Western Horsemanship- 27
• L1 Youth Showmanship-28

When the final results were tallied, $10,000 in scholarship money was presented to ten youth competitors. The 14-18 Champion, receiving $1,500, was Alexia Tordoff with Blazing Hot N Gold. The Reserve Champion was Ellexxah Maxwell with Zips Bossy Chip, receiving $1,000. The 13 and Under High Point Champion was Mia Wunderlich with You Stop My Heart. They received $1,500. The Reserve Champion was Emma Gore with My Only Good Shoes. They received $1,000.

The L1 Novice Youth High Point Champion was Nicole Griffo with Hez A Croud Pleaser, who took home $1,000. Allyson Schuster and Gotta Lotta Lazy won $500 for being Reserve. The Small Fry Champion, winning $1,000, was Isabella Hamilton with Grace Zipsintherain. The Reserve Champi0n, winning $500, was Kaylee Olds with Looking Willy Good. The Second Chance Champion, winning $1,000, was Kennedy Dorsey with Good Alibis. The Reserve Champion, winning $500, was Maclayne Warner with Naturally Smokin.
