Scott and Julie Nylen Purchase World Champion Sires Solaris and Secret Gunfighter

Two of the most notable World Champions and World Champion producing sires in the halter industry, Solaris and Secret Gunfighter, have been purchased by Scott and Julie Nylen of Scottsdale, Arizona, from Karry Voss of Voss Farms.

Solaris, the 2013 AQHA bay stallion by World Champion Sirprizerized, and out of the World Champion, Coolestshowgirlintown, has produced multiple World and Congress Champions, in addition to securing an impressive show record in his own right. He’s an AQHA World Champion, BHF Supreme Champion, and World Champion Sire, nominated for Amateur and Open BHF, WCHA, Big Money, APHA Platinum and Gold Futurities.

World Champion Secret Gunfighter, the 2011 AQHA chestnut stallion by Western Gunslinger and out of Top Sedretina, is also a multiple AQHA and APHA World Champion Sire, and a Breeders Halter Futurity, WCHA Futurity, Big Money and Congress Champion Sire, and nominated for those programs.

 

The purchase of both outstanding sires, with big congratulations to Scott and Julie Nylen from Karry and Dan Voss, was meant to be.  “Over the past year, our family has come to the decision that we are in the place in life where it is time to downsize our horse operation,” explains Karry. “We felt strongly if either of the studs were to sell, they would go to an owner who had the desire to continue to develop the legacy of these two great stallions.”

The Voss’ also wanted both boys to stay with Chris Arentsen. “His dedication and hard work caring for and promoting Secret Gunfighter and Solaris all these years has been more than we could have ever imagined. We will forever be grateful and proud of both Chris’ and Anna’s commitment to horses and clients alike. Scott and Julie’s offer provided an answer to both our hopes for the stallions.”

Karry and Dan express their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to everyone on the new journey. “We are very excited for them as they “pick up the torch” and will continue to support Scott, Julie, Anna, and Chris, along with the Chris Arentsen Quarter Horses family, in the future.”

Scott and Julie Nylen of Scottsdale, Arizona, explain the first time they saw Secret Gunfighter, they were awestruck and knew he was special, a once-in-a-lifetime stallion.  “And Solaris has been proving himself as a great sire with a long and bright future,” they explain. “We are thrilled to have been given the opportunity to own two of the most distinguished halter stallions in the industry.”
