November 17, 2017 was a momentous day in AQHA history. It was the day that Ross Roark led Squires Famous Doll to win a World Championship title in 2-Year-Old Mares at the AQHA World Show.
It was Ross’s sixth title of the show. Certainly impressive, but that’s not what made the win historic. That golden globe marked Ross’s 100th World Championship–an unprecedented record number of wins, the most in AQHA history.
Ross Roark won his first World Champion-ship as a professional trainer with Tashmere in Weanling Colts in 1994. Now, seven years after the incredible 100th win in 2017, his win total is in the 140s.
In addition to being the winningest exhibitor in AQHA history, Roark is a well-respected AQHA Professional Horseman and specialized Halter judge. He also has experience in the boardroom.
Ross has served as an AQHA Director representing Texas since 2010 and was elevated to Director at Large in 2022. He has served on numerous committees including the Animal Welfare Commission, Show Committee, and was chairman of the Stud Book & Registration Committee from 2020-2022. During his youth, he was the President of the American Junior Quarter Horse Association from 1984-1985.
Those experiences will undoubtedly serve him well as he embarks on a new journey as a member of the 2024-2025 AQHA Executive Committee.
