Results From 2018 March To The Arch

29597352_885111325003983_1401509724697775992_nThe 2018 March To The Arch is now underway, and, thanks to show management, we have results to share from the first day of competition. The show kicked off on Wednesday with Trail, Western Pleasure, Horsemanship, and Equestrians With Disabilities classes.

Class sizes are staying strong and expected to grow throughout the weekend.

  • L1 Western Pleasure- 14
  • L1 Amateur Western Pleasure- 14
  • Junior Western Pleasure- 15
  • Junior Trail-15
  • L1 Youth Horsemanship- 16
  • Senior Trail- 17
  • L1 Trail- 19

Check out some of the big winners of classes thus far: Joni Nass Specht rode My Versionof Perfect to place first under judge Lori Gordon’s card in L1 Trail. Carly Veldman Parks and Check Required were the winners in Junior Trail for both Lori Gordon and Mary Luther. Andy Cochran and I Know Whats Best placed first under Gordon and Luther’s cards in L1 Western Pleasure, followed by Jon Barry with Lazy Lopin Moonlight. Marilyn Masterson scored a first place finish with KM Suddenly So Easy in Select Western Pleasure on the cards of Rhonda Replogle, Larry Hansch, and Kelly Smith. In the Horsemanship pen, Sarah Carr and Huntin For Faith scored first on Replogle’s card, as well as Livvie Van Lanen in the Amateur division. Hansch gave first to Kaleena Weakly with HP Prime Time in the Amateur Horsemanship.

Three NSBA futurity classes were held and winners were presented with big checks.

In the NSBA $500 Green Western Pleasure, Jon Barry rode Lazy Lopin Moonlight to win $328 for Dana Smith. The Reserve Champion was Andy Cochran with I Know Whats Best, winning $246 for Capital Quarter Horses, LLC. Third was Kenny Lakins with My Wild Invitation, winning $164 for Robyn Davies. Fourth was Casey Willis with KM Thenextbestthing, winning $82 for Masterson Farms, LLC.

In the NSBA $1,000 3-Year-Old Western Pleasure, Angie Rigdon Cannizarro rode Cool Breeze to win $624 for Loony Quarter Horses. The Reserve Champion was Kenny Lakins with Making Me Willy Wild, winning $468 for Debra Trubee. Third was Houston Huff with KM Surely Best, winning $312 for Masterson Farms, LLC. Fourth was Travis Duit with Bet N On A Dream, winning $156 for Donna Grosse.

Finally, in the NSBA Open $500 Ltd. Open Western Pleasure, Houston Huff rode KM Surely Best to win $396 for Masterson Farms, LLC. In Reserve, Carly Veldman Parks rode Snapchat Diva to win $264 for Knapp Quarter Horses.
