Results From 2013 Athens Summer Jubilee Quarter Horse Show
As the old saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers.” So what do July showers bring? A welcomed respite from the hot and humid Texas weather this weekend at the 2013 Athens Summer Jubilee Quarter Horse Show that took place July 17-21.
Despite a bit of rain, local, regional, and international exhibitors gathered in the “Black-Eyed Pea Capital of the World” for five complete AQHA shows. Judging the event were John Boxell, Liz Baker, Scott Neuman, Mike Carter, and Charlene Carter.
According to Mark Harrell Horse Show management, exhibitors representing Austria, Canada, Germany, Alaska, and Italy, as well as the four corners of the United States, attended the event. Class sizes remained large for specific disciplines, particularly in the Open division.

On Thursday evening, exhibitors and spectators thoroughly enjoyed the Exhibitors’ Dinner at Eddy’s, which was evident by the more than 170 free dinners served! Partygoers enjoyed volleyball, pool, a live band, and a cash bar.
