Reid Thomas Performance Horses Welcomes Kim and Curtis Reynolds

Reid Thomas Performance Horses has been turning out impeccably prepared youth and amateur all-around competitors for 17 years. As Reid has continued to improve his horsepower and make more horse and rider matches, it was time to seek out more expertise. That’s when he sought out the longtime horse industry duo of Kim and Curtis Reynolds and invited them to join his operation in the foothills of the Texas Hill Country in Boerne.

“With the exponential growth of my program, I knew it was time to add more professionals to my team,” Reid says. “When I made my hiring wish list, I was looking to add high level experience in Hunter Under Saddle and Equitation, World caliber coaching experience in the all-around field, and judging experience. Kim and Curtis checked all the boxes. We continue to see a trend in the industry of professionals coming together under one roof, joining forces, and complimenting each others’ strengths and weaknesses. In the end, that builds a better quality business for horses and riders.”

Reid is looking forward to having Kim and Curtis assist with all aspects of his training program, including preparation, coaching, training, and showing. It also helps that they share the same coaching mindset and training philosophy. “The three of us agree that a modern day horse training program must be centered around quality, five-star service and the welfare of our American Quarter Horses.”

“At most major shows, they run three arenas at once, so we can divide and conquer three to four arenas and have more available coaching staff to school for the next show day. I frequently have clients ask if we can take Hunter Under Saddle horses, and we can, but we would have to hire an outside catch-rider. With Kim joining the program, this will enable us to show horses in the open division.”

Previously, Kim and Curtis operated their own business- Final Four Performance Horses- out of Fairfield, FL. In addition, they would like to thank Seven Bar Ranch for all their support and an amazing opportunity this past year in Marble, Falls, TX. This week, they will be headed to Boerne, TX to their new home with Reid Thomas Performance Horses.

Ultimately, Reid hopes that this meeting of the minds will result in the further diversification of his business and the ability to serve each horse and rider’s individual needs. The first show for Kim and Curtis in their new role will be the AQHA Youth World this fall. Reid would like to thank the industry for providing a great platform to show our horses and Kim and Curtis for joining his team. We wish them the best of luck with this new endeavor.
