Quarter Horse royalty will be traveling to Kansas City, Missouri this week for the 2014 American Royal. The six-judge event will kick off on Thursday, September 4th with Ranch Horse Pleasure, Reining, Longe Line, Horsemanship, and Western Pleasure classes.
Friday and Sunday’s classes will consist of Working Hunter, Equitation Over Fences, Jumping, Hunter Hack, Hunter Under Saddle, and Equitation. Saturday is the main event with Showmanship, Western Pleasure, Horsemanship, Reining, and FREE Stick Horse and Leadline classes. In addition, halter exhibitors will track once and be inspected twice by all six judges. Judges for the show will be Charlene Carter, Robin Frid, Brad Jewett, Sissy Anderson, Judd Paul, and John Boxell.
The brand new schedule for 2014 offers both Junior and Senior Trail, Junior and Senior Western Riding, and Yearling Longe Line. In addition, circuit champion awards will be presented in Small Fry, Novice Youth, Novice Amateur, 13 and Under, 14-18, Amateur, Select, and Open divisions.

On Thursday evening, Mid Rivers Equine Centre will be hosting a Hamburger Cookout. Then, on Friday evening, the Royal Feast will take place! During this fun event, each participating barn will serve a particular dish or course in front of their stalls. A printable menu will be available for exhibitors and spectators to peruse the options.Following with tradition, the “Most Spectacular Host” will receive a beautiful crystal trophy.
