The PtHA Wrangler Exhibitor of the Month for February is Katie Beaumont of Calimesa, California. Katie is an amateur exhibitor who has been showing for 23 years. Beaumont shows her eight-year-old mare named Bikinis N Martinis, also known as Carrie.
She recalls her first horse show when she competed in Leadline with her pony Jingle Bells.
“After the class, [my mother] took a picture of me holding my ribbon with Jingle Bells,” Beaumont said. “I’ve been hooked ever since.”
Today, Beaumont and Carrie show in all-around events in PtHA and APHA shows throughout California, Arizona, and Nevada. Beaumont also has traveled to the Pinto World Championship Show as well.
“I love that I can trust [Carrie],” Beaumont said. “I have shown other horses where it’s a gamble whether they will be good for you or not, but she always tries hard and wants to be good.”
