PtHA News
October’s PtHA Wrangler of the Month is Amanda Pflasterer of Grand Island, Nebraska. Pflasterer is an Amateur exhibitor who has been showing for 23 years. She started showing at an early age, getting her first taste of the show ring at three years old.
Pflasterer recalls her first show, competing against her older brother and cousin in lead line classes.
“I grew up in a ‘horse show’ family,” Pflasterer said. “I have had the opportunity to progress through the shows as a lead line competitor, walk trot competitor, youth competitor, and now as an amateur and open competitor.”
Today, Pflasterer shows her 4-year-old gelding, Oh Be Stolen, also known as Bart. He is named Bart because he has a shaped spot on his hip that resembles Bart Simpson, she said.
Together, they compete at Pinto, Paint, and Open shows all throughout Nebraska and surrounding states.
“He is extremely special to me,” Pflasterer said. “True to his bloodlines he is an all-around horse and gets shown all day, [in events from] from Halter to Stake Race.”
