PtHA Wrangler Exhibitor of the Month- Courtney Helgeson

The Pinto Horse Association Wrangler Exhibitor of the Month for September is Courtney Helgeson of Estacada, Oregon. Helgeson is an youth exhibitor who has been showing for eight years.
She shows her nine-year-old miniature tobiano gelding named Stoney and her eight-year-old bay overo mare named Fancy. Helgeson and Stoney compete in most mini classes that are available.
Helgeson recalls her first show as a 4th grader competing in a 4-H open horse show. “After that first show, I didn’t care how I placed. I just knew I wanted to work hard and do it again,” Helgeson says. “I enjoyed every minute of showing.”
Together, Helgeson and Fancy compete in English Pleasure classes at local 4-H shows, Pinto shows, and various local shows throughout Oregon.
“I love showing, because I get this rush of energy and adrenalin when I perform with my horses,” Helgeson says. “It’s like nothing I have ever experienced.”
