The inaugural Pleasure Versatility Challenge event for 3-year-olds was conducted during the 2018 Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show in Oklahoma City. The second Pleasure Versatility Challenge is scheduled for Saturday, November 16, at the 2019 Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show. For the second year, the event is sponsored by Terry Bradshaw Quarter Horses.
Initial voting memberships in the Pleasure Versatility Challenge were offered to all AQHA Professional Horsemen, and 20 founding members initially stepped forward. Founding members recently decided to donate all of their membership fees, $5,000 in total, to the AQHA Professional Horsemen’s Crisis Fund.
“This amazingly generous donation highlights the commitment the Pleasure Versatility Challenge founding members have made to AQHA, the Professional Horsemen’s Crisis Fund and equine industry as a whole,” said Karen McCuistion, AQHA manager of professional horsemen and Team Wrangler. “These members have invested in the future of the industry and are now expanding that investment to their fellow horsemen. We’ll realize benefits from their efforts for years to come.”
Founding members include Charlie Cole, Ryan Cottingim, Chad Evans, Robin Frid, Clint Fullerton, Gil Galyean, Becky George, Rusty Green, Murray Griggs, Kellie Hinely, Leslie Vagneur Lange, Jeff Mellott, Jill Gomes Newcomb, Joan Schroeder, Jim Searles, Melissa Sexton, Tommy Sheets, Gene Spagnola, Stephen Stephens and Justin Wheeler.
