A decision just handed down this week in Pendleton County, KY is causing outrage. Many will remember the odd circumstances where 49 dead horse carcasses were discovered on a Pendleton County Farm and 35 horses were discovered alive.
Initially, the owner was charged with 14 counts of animal cruelty and 49 counts of failure to remove animal carcasses. Now, Fox 19 News in Louisville, Kentucky has reported that a plea deal between the county prosecutor, horse owner, and his lawyers has resulted in the dismissal of the animal cruelty counts and a merging of the remaining carcass removal counts.
