Congratulations to the Staat Family on their purchase of Kruzen Parrot Bay, by The Krymsun Kruzer and out of Blue Blazin Pepper.
The 2017 bay AQHA gelding boasts a successful junior career, with accomplishments such as a Bronze World Show Championship in L2 Amateur Hunter Under Saddle with Amateur Tami Dobbs, and Top 10 and Top 15 Congress HUS wins with Tami and with Shannon Gillespie in Open, along with multiple circuit wins as a junior horse.
As a three year old, he was shown very successfully by DIY Amateur Kara Carpenter, and when he formed a partnership with Tami last year, he immediately earned her circuit championships in Amateur Hunter Under Saddle, doing the same for Shannon Gillespie in the Junior Hunter Under Saddle.
“JB” just turned six this year and Gillespie Show Horses has also been preparing him for his all-around career.
“I am so beyond thrilled for Peyton to take over the reins on JB! He’s an amazingly talented horse! I can’t wait to watch her compete in the all-around with him!” says Tami Dobbs.
Tim Gillespie says after such a successful year with Tami, they are thrilled to work with Peyton on JB’s all-around career, now that he’s also doing Western Riding, Trail, Horsemanship, and Equitation.
“Peyton will be on the TCU Equestrian Team next year, and she wanted to have a really neat horse for the Horsemanship,” Tim says, explaining that after the sale of Sensational Satin Rose and Sirtain Kinda Dream, they’d wanted to find a really good Quarter Horse for her. “She’s had been coming out and riding him until we found something for her, and they just clicked and she fell in love with him.”
Tim says Peyton is very driven and a beautiful rider, and they’re looking forward to a fun year.
“We’re excited to watch them,” adds Shannon. “Peyton is very dedicated and talented, and they make a great match.”
If their success at their first show together is any indication of their future, it is indeed bright. At the recent KQHA Prairie Classic, the duo was Circuit Champion in Equitation and earned wins and points in Showmanship, Hunter Under Saddle, and Horsemanship.
“I can’t say thank you enough to Tami Dobbs for selling me JB,” Peyton adds. “He truly is the best boy and a perfect fit for me! I am looking forward to seeing what JB and I will accomplish in the future. A huge thank you to my trainers Tim and Shannon Gillespie for matching JB and I. And the biggest thank you to my family for their endless support in making my dreams come true.”
