For equestrians, our horses aren’t the only animals we cherish. At any barn, in the corner of a tack room, the front seat of a pickup truck, or snoozing under the saddle rack at a horse show, you’re likely to find one of our beloved canine companions.
We love our horses, but often they’re sold to new homes, go on to continue their careers, or retired to grassy, green pastures. But the one thing that’s constant are the wagging tails, wet noses, and loving licks of our dogs.
We would like to send our condolences to Dale Sullens following the recent passing of his beloved Great Dane, Tucker.
With eye upraised his master’s look to scan,
The joy, the solace, and the aid of man:
The rich man’s guardian and the poor man’s friend,
The only creature faithful to the end.
