Bushy Park Farm and Clark Rassi Quarter Horses have been hit by a double blow this week following the loss of one of their multiple World Champion producing mares, RPL My Te Touching, as well as the loss of AQHA World and Congress Champion sire, The Top Secret, respectively.
Clark Rassi sadly confirmed that RPL My Te Touching, owned by Bushy Park Farm, passed away yesterday morning, May 21, 2014. The horse Rassi described as “one of the best broodmares of this generation” was the dam of multiple World Champion, Top Secretina; Reserve World Champion, My Intensions; BPF Over The Top, and four younger fillies sired by The Top Secret, that he hopes will help continue the great mare’s legacy.
Then, earlier today, May 22, 2014, The Top Secret was laid to rest. The Top Secret was sired by The Secret and out of Sierra Tease, by Sierra Te. The 15.3 hand, HYPP N/H stallion with his powerful muscling and chiseled conformation was the sire of multiple World, National, and Congress Champions such as Telasecret, Secretz, Top Lady Secret, She’s The Prettiest, Attencion, Heza Secret Agent, Ikon, Pretty Dark Secret, Mr Cool Secret, The All My Te, Affirmed, Amazin Secret, Secret Fascination, Totally Top Secret, Hurricane Ivan, Valentino, Big Time Secret, Secret Crush, Secret Surprise, Super Secret, Wanna Be On Top, and so many more.
In addition, The Top Secret was the leading sire of World and Reserve World Champion halter horses at the 2012 AQHA World Show. Bred, raised, and loved by Rassi for the past 13 years, The Top Secret was not just a show horse and champion sire but also a part of the family.
“Anybody could do anything with him,” he says. “He was just a sweetheart to be around. He never needed a chain or anything. He was a very mild-mannered horse.”
When asked what has contributed to The Top Secret’s level of success over the past decade, Rassi cites the stallion’s “almost perfect bone structure and confirmation.”
Both The Top Secret and RPL My Te Touching have been buried at Bushy Park Farm in what Rassi describes as a “fitting memorial.”
Although The Top Secret has been laid to rest, his legacy will undoubtedly be carried into the winner’s circle time and time again by the bloodlines passed on to his son, Telasecret, who continues to sire the next generation of champions. Our sincerest condolences go out to Clark Rassi and everyone at Bushy Park Farm during this very difficult time.
