The pre-entry deadline for the 2014 APHA World Championship Show is Monday, September 15. RV and stall reservations are due at the same time; beginning September 16 reservations will include a late fee. In a time crunch this weekend? Cut time and paperwork out of your entry process with the new online entry system, available at oawcs.apha.com.

So far, 111 entries have been submitted with the online system, and APHA members have been happy to share their enthusiasm about the program.

“Just finished our World Show entries online and have to say thank you for offering it!” Vanessa Froman and Daine Kliemchen, owners of Invited To The Dance, commented on the Official American Paint Horse Association’s Facebook page. “It was super quick and easy. Looking forward to coming in November. Thank you to all who are working so hard to make this show possible.”

Most everyone can use the online entry platform, but there are a few things to know in advance:

  • Credit card payment only.
  • Unlike the paper form, you will submit one online entry for each horse/exhibitor combination.
  • Stall and RV reservations will still need to be submitted via the paper form.

Those wishing to enter the following will need to submit traditional entry forms (via mail, fax or email) for these particular classes/options:

◦ Breeders’ Futurity classes

◦ Farnam Sale Stakes classes

◦ NSBA Stallion-Incentive Fund class option

◦ Southern Belle Breeder class option

◦ Youth Cutting

◦ Ranch Sorting classes

Additional Recommendations

Online entry is simple and easy, though there are some differences from the traditional entry form.

Online entries should be submitted per horse/exhibitor combination; if you’re entering a horse with multiple exhibitors, never fear. Though the online entry system will automatically asses the administration fee for each submission, credit cards are not charged immediately. All entries will be reviewed and processed by APHA staff, and only one administration fee will be charged per horse.

Classes that offer multiple programs and awards such as the intermediate exhibitor division or National Snaffle Bit Association will show multiple options for class entry.

“In the traditional paper entry, exhibitors were required to submit several documents to enroll in all of these opt-in class features,” APHA Director of Marketing and Promotional Contest Amy Stapleton said. “When building our online system, we instead grouped these options to streamline the process.”

To enter a class with multiple options, select the one best choice for your needs. For example, an exhibitor only showing in Masters Amateur Hunt-Seat Equitation would select AHS6, while an exhibitor who is also an NSBA member would select AHS6+NSBA.

You will receive a confirmation email when you submit your entry online, as well as the traditional confirmation letter closer to the show. We suggest that you print out the form for your own records.

Prefer your traditional entry method? No problem! Entry information and forms are available with the 2014 Premium Book at oawcs.apha.com.

If you have any questions about using the online entry program, contact Amy Stapleton at astapleton@apha.com. If you have questions or concerns regarding the APHA World Championship Show or class entry, contact the APHA Performance Department at 817-222-8455.
