Entice (verb)- to attract artfully by arousing hope or desire.
The three-year-old stallion by Its A Southern Thing and out of Pretty Assets certainly lives up to his name with stunning looks, sweet disposition, and moves to match. “Vance” was bred by Gumz Farms as an embryo from the Congress and World Champion mare, Pretty Assets, which was obtained from Meghan Tierney. Traditionally, Gumz Farms keeps less than 3% of their foals intact as stallion prospects; but, given Vance’s pedigree, mind, and movement, he certainly deserved the opportunity to be kept a stallion, according to Stallion Manager Amy Gumz.
“He was pretty special from the start. He stood up and the word ‘majestic’ came to mind,” Gumz says. “He was named Vance, because the theme for the 2018 foaling season was agents from the NCIS television show. He’s a big, handsome bay that’s homozygous for the black gene, with a quiet, easy personality that everyone appreciates.”
