A picture of perfection as they seem to glide by, a beautiful, smiling rider astride the gray horse with his ears forward, a kind eye, and a sweeping stride, floating together effortlessly along the rail.

This image is what bystanders are treated to each time Tali Terlizzi shows Al Be Bleu, the Congress and NSBA World Champion by Allocate Your Assets and out of Makin The Boys Blue. She’s owned the 2016 gelding since he was three, and she’s just as awestruck by “Elwood” today as the first time she saw him.

“He takes my breath away still to this day every time I watch him perform. He has great expression, a big, springy, ground-covering trot and a canter that is so slow-legged and effortless. I’m proud to say I own such an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime horse,” Tali says. “He has a BIG personality and can be difficult at times, but I like a good challenge… and when my hard work pays off, it makes everything worth it.”

To get to that flawless image in the arena, Tali has not only worked hard, but she’s chosen to always do what’s best for him, including taking a break from showing Elwood last year to allow trainer Jamie English show him.
