During the 2016 Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show, Oklahoma State University took home the title of Merial AQHA collegiate horse judging world champions in the senior college division for the second year in a row, while North Eastern Oklahoma A&M claimed the Merial AQHA collegiate horse judging world championship in the junior college division.
Competitors came from schools across the country for the chance to earn the title of the Merial AQHA world champion collegiate horse judging team and thousands of dollars in scholarships awarded to the top three teams in each division. The Merial AQHA World Championship Collegiate Judging Contest took place November 16 at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. This challenging and rewarding event is sponsored by AQHA Corporate Partner Merial.

The American Quarter Horse Foundation provides scholarships to the college or university of the world champion team, reserve world champion team and third-place teams in the junior and senior college divisions in the contest.
• World champion team: $2,000
• Reserve world champion team: $1,250
• Third-place team: $750
