Oakley, Ross, and Sheets To Teach September 27-28 Mentorship in Ohio

Are you cheating on your trainer?

If you think taking a clinic – or learning about horses a new way – is cheating, think again, says Troy Oakley, who has been burning up the miles in the past year traveling across the U.S., armed with his motto, “Have Knowledge, Will Travel.”

“I have a great lineup of horsemen and horsewomen to go along with me throughout the country,” he explains. “People who are WILLING to SHARE their knowledge and who are not looking to STEAL anyone’s clients.”

A prime example:

Alex Ross, Tommy Sheets, and Troy Oakley

September 27 & 28, 2024

Bullen Equestrian Center, Eaton, Ohio

The eminent trio of experts awaits, and you can tap into the knowledge of all three, just in time to elevate your performance for the All American Quarter Horse Congress.

These veteran horsemen will teach the following topics:

Alex Ross:  Ranch Riding

Tommy Sheets: Trail

Troy Oakley: Horsemanship, Equitation, Turn Arounds, Lead Changes, Maintaining a Good Top-Line and Legs.

They wish to share their knowledge to change the lives of horsemen and break down barriers of old-school thinking that taking a clinic is a risk to trainers. It’s the reason Troy cringes at the word “clinic,” and uses the word “mentor” in his communication – he says as horsemen, we are all lifetime learners.

The magic of hearing a strategy worded or demonstrated differently can open up doors – and minds – to learning with your current trainer, they explain. “We all learn differently,” says Stephanie Wilson, organizer of the clinic/mentor opportunity. “Someone might plant a seed, but someone else has to water it. We have to be open to learning, not just for ourselves, but for the horse and the industry.”

Details are below, if you’re ready to try this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity:

  • Preregistration Required to the first 30 riders

“This is your opportunity to get ready for the All American Quarter Horse Congress,” says Troy. “Thank you from the three of us – we look forward to sharing our knowledge with y’all! As Ronald Reagan once said, “Tear down this wall!”
