NRHA Germany is working on establishing reining as a new para equestrian discipline. The dates for the first para reining training camp is June 14 and 15, 2014 at the beautiful Showdown Ranch close to Welzheim, Germany. Details like trainers that will be instructing and the maximum number of participants permitted will follow. The camp is open to international reining fans.
“Our goal is to give as many handicapped people the chance of taking part as possible,“ says NRHA Germany Vice President Paul Kratschmer. “We intend to keep fees as low as possible, so we are talking to potential sponsors at the moment.”
The Showdown Ranch is a renowned breeding and training facility at 73553 Alfdorf, Haghof. Here, riders find optimal conditions for training like a new indoor arena (30 x 60m) with excellent reining ground. For the horses, there big box stalls as well as outdoor stalls with pastures. Guests are always welcome. The trainers of the ranch are Bernie Hoeltzel and Jenny Nekula, who also organize clinics.
With their work to form reining as a new para equestrian discipline, it is not the first time NRHA Germany has started a new project. The biggest reining affiliate outside the American continent also organized the first FEI European Championship for Junior and Young Riders.
