Hagyard Pharmacy Introduces New Equine Pre and Probiotic Product, REVYVE

Proprietary Stabilization Process Ensures Optimal Protection and Product Performance

Hagyard Pharmacy introduced the newest addition to its RESOLVET line of equine products on December 1st, during the 2018 AAEP Convention in San Francisco, CA. The new product, REVYVE, is a pre- and probiotic designed to maintain gastrointestinal (GI) health during periods of antibiotic use and recovery from a variety of GI ailments.

“Like the products in our RESOLVET line, REVYVE was born out of some challenges we had seen in other industry products,” said Dr. Nathan Slovis, a Member of the Hagyard Equine Medical Institute and Director of the McGee Center, Hagyard’s critical care center. “There are a number of probiotics on the market that appear not to make it all the way through the digestive tract. We wanted to solve that.”

Hagyard has partnered with an industry leader that has developed a proprietary stabilization technique used in conjunction with Saccharomyces boulardii, a yeast shown to bind with certain toxin binding sites, helping to decrease the severity of clinical signs of acute enterocolitis in horses. The two-step process imbeds the yeast in a protective matrix of proteins, polysaccharides and other substances. This protects and maintains the integrity of the Saccharomyces boulardii during passage through the digestive tract.

Slovis believes another difference in REVYVE is in the quality of the ingredients itself.

“The Hagyard approach is to seek out the best quality products,” Slovis added. “So we partnered with the individuals that have the patents on how to properly cultivate these organisms.”

REVYVE is the eighth product in the RESOLVET line of products that also includes Relyne GI which aids in gastric support during a horse’s training, travel and performance. Relyne GI is the best-selling product in the RESOLVET line.
