August 24, 2017, Sheffield, Iowa – A new AQHA show, The Fall Harvest Championship, will be held in the Jacobson Center in Des Moines, IA, October 5-8, 2017. “We are pleased to announce the inclusion of the Missouri Quarter Horse Association, Nebraska Quarter Horse Association, American Buckskin Horse Association and the Iowa Buckskin Horse Association to the show roster of state approvals as well as the Iowa Quarter Horse Association. The goal is to benefit wide range of exhibitors, both within the state of Iowa and outside the state. The ABRA Classes will be held concurrently with the AQHA classes. The response so far has been overwhelming. I have wanted to try this format for quite awhile, and it finally fell into place this for this show,” said Show Manager Jennifer Sheriff.
“A variety of All Breed Futurity Classes are offered along with an All Breed Ranch Horse Showdown and an All Breed Non Pro Versatility Challenge” said Sheriff. “Kathy Avolt and her team of Mark Harrell Horse Shows are on board for this spectacular event. I felt there was a demand for this type of event in the fall that would also offer a great place to warm up or layover for The All American Quarter Horse Congress folks heading to Ohio.”
“Our youth are vital part of the equine industry and we need to support and encourage their participation. The Fall Harvest Championship has established a youth scholarship fund with 10% of all Sponsorship monies going towards the fund. This year we will announce scholarship winners during the show,” stated Sheriff. Details will be available on the website soon.
The Fall Harvest Championship is a Five Judge AQHA show along with a Four Judge ABRA show offering High Point All Arounds, Circuit Awards, High Point Open Exhibitor, Added Money classes, All Breed Classes, Cash prizes and fun exhibitor parties! The Stall reservation deadline is September 15 without penalty. The All Breed Classes pre-entry deadlines are also September 15. We look forward to seeing everyone in October.
