New All-Around Awards Added to 2025 APHA World Show Lineup

Exhibitors at the 2025 APHA World Championship Show will vie for 19 all-around awards this year. That includes new All-Around English Youth and All-Around English Amateur awards, plus other honors across Open, Amateur, Novice, Walk-Trot and Youth divisions. Remember, Regular Registry and Solid Paint-Bred Registry horses now compete together in all classes.

All-around award winners earn more than just bragging rights—they score great prizes, too. Prize packages include:

Youth World Championship Scholarships: $100,000 added

Once again, the 2025 World Show will award $100,000 in scholarships across all Youth world championship classes, thanks to the generosity of the American Paint Horse Foundation. Each class features $1,375 in scholarships, presented to the first-, second- and third-place finishers plus one randomly selected exhibitor.

All-Around Youth award winners also receive scholarships: champions earn $500 scholarships, and reserve champions earn $250 scholarships.

More Special Awards

Additional awards are presented in select classes and categories. They include:

  • Robyn Hanna Youth Sportsmanship Award
    • Presented to the Youth exhibitor who demonstrates exceptional sportsmanship throughout the World Show; sponsored by The Milton Family.
  • Elegant April Memorial Award
    • Presented to a Youth 14–18 exhibitor who wins Youth Working Hunter, with additional award tiers if that horse-and-rider team also wins Youth Hunter Hack and either Youth Hunter Under Saddle or Youth Hunt-Seat Equitation; sponsored by Jennifer & Margie Chan of Elegant Paint Horses
  • Too Sleepy for Candy Memorial Award
    • Presented to the Novice Amateur Western Pleasure world champion; sponsored by Susan Juroe
  • Earnest Wilson All-Around Youth 18 & Under and All-Around Open Exhibitor
    • Presented to the highest-placing overall exhibitor in those categories; sponsored by Kay Hayes
  • Leading Breeder Award
    • Presented to the breeder earning the most points from horses placing in the Top 10 in all world championship classes.
  • Leading Owner/Breeder/Exhibitor Award
    • Presented to the individual who is the owner, breeder and exhibitor of horses earning the most points from their horses’ combined placings in the Top 10 of all world championship classes.
  • Leading Owner Award
    • Presented to the owner earning the most points from horses placing in the Top 10 in all world championship classes.

Entries open in April and are accepted until 5 p.m. the day before classes take place, but get the best rates by pre-entering by May 15.

Remember, Regular Registry and Solid Paint-Bred Registry horses now compete together in all classes. No qualifying is required!

All points earned in Amateur, Youth, Novice and Walk-Trot world championship classes are eligible for Paynt Points payouts. Non-point-earning classes like futurities and sweepstakes are not eligible for Paynt Points.
