The Michigan Horse Council (MHC) is excited to announce it will host its annual Equine Legislative Day (ELD) on the Michigan Capitol Lawn on September 21, 2022. Equine Legislative Day is an opportunity to learn more about the Michigan equine industry with displays on the Capitol lawn, hands on activities, presentations from equine leaders, industry awards, drawings for fun prizes, and a BBQ lunch.
ELD is a unique equine event geared toward connecting our equine businesses, professionals, organizations, trails, equine therapy, competition disciplines, rescues and rehabilitation, and racing groups with our state legislators and lawmakers to better educate the true impact that the equine industry has on the state of Michigan and the influence that MHC has on that success.
In addition to connecting with our state lawmakers and representatives MHC also will take time at ELD to recognize and award our industry leaders. This year MHC will focus on recognizing and awarding specific equine facilities that are being developed or expanded to improve or provide additional showing experiences for a variety of horse disciplines. These facilities are specifically making additions or improvements that are large enough to accommodate the demand while also providing year-round possibilities because of Michigan’s late fall, winter, and early springs.
Prior to September 21 MHC will be working on connecting and inviting state lawmakers and representatives to join us. We also encourage all equine enthusiasts that have local lawmakers or representatives that you believe might benefit in this event to invite them and help them become better aware of the Michigan equine industry.
