Meredith Landy is Proud New Owner of Multiple World and Congress Champion, All Good

Longtime APHA enthusiast, Meredith Landy, has been on the lookout for a stellar Hunter Under Saddle horse for quite some time. For several years, she’s competed with some of the best APHA Hunt Seat horses, like Ultimate Bonanza and Real Me In. Most recently, she’s campaigned Certified Stride, but she has been looking for a younger prospect to bring along as “Sly” gets older.

She hit the jackpot when her trainers informed her recently that the multiple World and Congress Champion earning Hunter Under Saddle horse, All Good, had come up for sale. We’ve had the opportunity to follow “Jameson’s” career, first as a two-year-old with Stacey Carleton, and as a three-year-old with his most recent owner, Kent Ray Taylor.

Stacey initially purchased Jameson as a weanling from Allie Littelfield after he won Yearling Longe Line at the 2017 Pinto World Show. Carleton and Jameson went on to win numerous titles, including a Reserve Championship at the 2018 APHA World in Amateur Junior Hunter Under Saddle. He was also ridden by Beth Case to win 2-Year-Old Open Hunter Under Saddle and many other titles. His most recent owner, Kent Ray Taylor, had a banner year in 2019 winning numerous World and Congress Championships, including five titles at the 2019 NSBA World, titles at the 2019 APHA World, and Congress Championships, like 3-Year-Old Ltd. Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle, and more.

Kent is thrilled that Jameson has a new partner in Meredith. “Jameson is a once-in-a-lifetime horse, and I will cherish the memories dearly, but I’m very happy to say that I know Meredith will treat him like the amazing unicorn he is, and I will be their biggest fan. Cheers to Jameson, Beth, and Jason for making my dreams come true.”

Now, Meredith is taking the reins to pilot Jameson in Masters Amateur Hunter Under Saddle events, and there is a rumor he might be adding Pleasure Driving to his repertoire…

“I’ve been searching for something to replace Sly for years,” Meredith says. “My goal was to buy a younger horse and bring him along, but I never found a horse I liked as much as Sly. Since he was healthy and doing well, I didn’t feel like I was in any big rush and could afford to be picky.”

“My trainer, Brad Ost, called last week and told me that All Good had come up for sale. We moved quickly and finalized everything on May 8th. I had seen him the year before, and he was just stunning. What’s not to like about him?”

Jameson is now four years old, but Meredith has followed his career as a three-year-old when he was competing at major events like the APHA World, NSBA World, and the Congress. “I think the most striking thing is how he was able to win several events at the Quarter Horse Congress, as a Paint,” she says.

“He’s just a phenomenal mover and an ideal-looking Hunt Seat horse. He’s absolutely beautiful to look at. He looks a lot like his father, Nike (All Time Fancy). He doesn’t have a bad gait or a bad direction. I remember the way he pointed his toes and thought that he was just so stunning.”

Sadly, Meredith hasn’t had the opportunity to see Jameson in person, due to the COVID-19 restrictions on travel, but she’s hoping to make a road trip from California to Texas in June. “Brad and Troy went to ride him and said they thought he’d be the perfect fit for me. We’re all on cloud nine.”

Moving forward, Meredith and Jameson plan to compete in Masters Junior Hunter Under Saddle at the APHA World Show, as well as the NSBA World Show. As far as the Congress is concerned, she’s on the fence. “I’m a Paint person, but I could probably be persuaded to jet in and show him. I’ve never been there before, and he’s a single event horse at this point.”

“I’m just super stoked about him and can’t wait to spend more time with him. He’s super sweet and my kind of horse from top to bottom. I’ve looked so long and am really excited. I feel like it was worth the wait.”
