In the Amateur Senior Hunter Under Saddle at the 2023 APHA World Championship Show, Megan East Hogan rode multiple World Champion Al Bet Ur Two Faced to another win, a horse she explains gets better every year. “Henry” is not only special to Megan because he’s homebred, but also because his dam was also Megan’s celebrated Youth 14-18 show horse, Moons Fancy Face.
She laughs that this is Henry’s world and they just live in it. “He’s quirky and we know what those quirks are. Someone has to pet him while they stand in line and wait for awards,” she explains.
“Every win in special, but it makes it more special because I have a history with his mother,” Megan reveals. “Watching them grow up from baby to become a successful show horse is really something else to experience.”
Megan has become a busy mom, and she says this is her first show of the year. However, she says her team of Mike Hachtel and Kollin Fischer make it work. “It takes a village and I have a great village behind me.”
