Renee Conklin—Hallsville, Missouri
“I am an 11-year-old member of the Missouri Junior Paint Horse Club, in which I am the scrapbook officer. I began showing Paint Horses with my family when I was 2 years old in the lead line class at local open shows before I advanced to APHA shows in lead line and, later, to halter and the Walk-Trot division. I am currently showing as a Novice Youth with my horse, Fredrick Fleet.”
“I’m also a 4-H member and enjoy projects such as photography, cake decorating, horsemanship, scrapbooking and country cured hams. My other hobbies include playing the clarinet, gymnastics, volleyball, crafts and reading.”
“As a national director, I would like to promote Paint Horses and APHA at open shows, 4-H, FFA and other equine events to get new people involved in the association. I would also like to promote Paint Horses as fun for the whole family.”
Clint Cumpton—Adrian, Missouri
“I am an 11-year-old AjPHA member, and I enjoy participating in fun Paint activities like the Great Paint Brush-Off and the Youth Team Tournament, which takes place at the AjPHA Youth World Championship Show. I hope to use my leadership position to promote Paint Horses and help our association grow.”
“I am a home-schooled student. In addition to riding my Paint, my favorite pastimes are playing the piano, reading and learning about old cars.”
Clay Cumpton—Adrian, Missouri
“I am an 11-year-old AjPHA member and a sixth-grade home-schooled student. I love working with my Paint Horses and showing them in halter classes. I’ve participated in the Youth Team Tournament at the AjPHA Youth World Championship Show and attended the Youth Leadership Conference to learn more about what it takes to grow our association. As a national director, I want to help my fellow AjPHA leaders to encourage kids around the country to get involved with Paint Horses. I attend the Altona Baptist Church, and I love to read and work on cars in my free time.”
