With summer temperatures threatening the triple digits in many parts of the country, the show management team behind the Mapleleaf Circuit made the executive decision to have competitors leave their bling at home for their June 22-24 show in Lake St. Louis, MO. Judges for the event were Stacy Roberson, Tracy Willis, and Christi Brown.
Because the weather forecast predicted toasty temperatures for the three-day event, exhibitors were encouraged to forgo those heavy show jackets and chaps in favor of the cooler attire of a button down shirt, jeans, boots, and hat. Band or don’t. Wear a work saddle instead of a show saddle. It was entirely up to the competitors! The goal of the show was to promote a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
In another effort to help beat the heat, the Missouri Quarter Horse Youth Association hosted an Ice Cream Social on Saturday evening. Because many former show attendees had expressed interest in being able to show more days, the new schedule this year added an additional day to the schedule.
