Two more Congress Champions were recently named over in the Coliseum at the 2013 All American Quarter Horse Congress today in Columbus, Ohio.
Luke Castle gained his second Congress Championship of the week for the Josh Weakly/Andy Staton duo when he won with Gamechanger in 2-Year-Old Geldings. Just yesterday, Castle led Telling My Secretz to a win in Weanling Stallions for owner Josh Weakly and trainer Andy Staton. Castle also led Exceptional Playgirl to a Reserve Grand Champion Mare title behind Grand Champion Mare Elusive Premonition with Andy Staton.
Here’s what Castle had to say during yesterday’s interview when he was asked about his recurring partnership with Weakly and Staton.
“We’ve done a lot of business,” he says. “We sell horses and show them. It works out real well. [Andy] always has them ready to go.”
In the 3-Year-Old Geldings, Ross Roark racked up his sixth Congress Championship of the week with Boys N Toys for Vern Habighorst. Let’s take a look at Roark’s stats for the first few days of halter competition.
Congratulations to both of these exceptional competitors and owners on their success thus far during the competition. Both Gamechanger and Boys N Toys will return this afternoon to battle it out for the title of Grand Champion Gelding.
