Last Minute Reminders for AQHA Youth World

Filed under: Club & Show News,Club and Show News |

AQHA Publicity

The Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show is almost here!

Please make note of the following:

  • The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has affected the show and its structure in a variety of ways. Before heading to the OKC Fairgrounds, be sure you check out the Ford Youth World Health Protocols to ensure you are up to date on local, state and federal mandates in addition to AQHA and OKC Fairgrounds policies. This is to protect the health and safety of all exhibitors, staff and show personnel. Not only will this assist with protecting your health, but it will also protect upcoming equine events.
  • All exhibitors and attendees are required to complete the COVID-19 Health Acknowledgement & Liability Waiver and return it to the Show Office. Exhibitors will need to bring the signed waiver with them to the Show Office in order to pick up their entry packet.
  • AQHA will provide one complimentary face covering per exhibitor packet. Additional masks are available for purchase. The profits from the sale of masks will support the Youth Scholarship Fund.
  • Register to receive the official digital Ford Youth World Show Program as soon as it is published. Exhibitors can complete this form to get the digital program sent via email as soon as it is live.
  • We want to know more about you! Complete your official Ford Youth World bio form to share your AQHA story and more information on you and your American Quarter Horse’s journey to the 2020 Ford Youth World.
  • Move-in begins at 5 p.m., Monday, July 27.
  • Start unloading. Stalls are assigned per affiliate for all exhibitors, so be sure to check with your youth adviser if you have questions. Stall maps are available on the resource page. Starting at 5 p.m. on Monday, July 27, you’ll have one hour to park and move in. After an hour, trailers must move to designated parking areas.
  • Pick up your back number and entry packet from the Show Office. Please be prepared with a copy of your horse’s registration papers and completed COVID-19 Health Acknowledgement & Liability Waiver. The Show Office opens at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28. Starting Wednesday, July 29, the Show Office opens daily one hour before show start time.
  • Review the exhibitor’s handbook where answers to many show-specific questions can be found.
  • Subscribe to the texting service for important show updates, including COVID-19 information. To enroll, simply text AQHA to 806-576-0913.
  • Patterns are posted! Check here for your class patterns before you head to OKC.
  • Working orders are posted and available in advance of the show.
  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, contests and activities taking place outside of the arena have been modified. Click here for more information.
  • Exhibitors will receive a free digital video file of their performance. Official show videographer Equine Promotion will automatically email exhibitors a link to their run so they can download and share it on social media. This is free; no signup is necessary. If you do not receive the email, be sure to check your email’s junk folder or visit the Show Office to confirm your email address is on file. There are also a variety of video options for purchase so visit the Equine Promotion booth for more information.
  • This year, AQHA Professional Horsemen are streaming the Nutrena Ride the Pattern Clinics for exhibitors to view. Refer to the schedule of clinics for information about if the clinic will be aired on the live webcast at www.aqha.com/youthworld and/or on AQHA’s Facebook page. You can submit your questions for the clinicians here by July 24. To show your support for the Professional Horsemen, donations can be made here to support the AQHA Professional Horsemen’s Crisis Fund.
  • Follow live scoring and more with the new Horse Show Tracker. Visit www.horseshowtracker.com and bookmark the updated Tracker to your home screen.
  • Earn money for your AQHA Ranching Heritage-Bred horse. The owner of the overall highest-placing AQHA Ranching Heritage-Bred horse at the Ford Youth World will receive $250, plus a trophy. The breeder also receives $250. There’s no entry fee. To find out if your horse was bred by an AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeder, check this list of breeders.

If you haven’t already:

  • Rent your stall mat from Elite Stall Mat Rentals.
  • Pre-order shavings by calling 405-948-6786.
  • Reserve additional stalls for non-showing horses by completing this form and returning it to worldshow@aqha.org.
