This afternoon was all about western pleasure at the 2013 Quarter Horse Congress. First up, youth exhibitors took to the arena for the Youth 12-14 Western Pleasure.
In the end, Deanna Green and her Palomino mare, Blazinmytroublesaway, aka “Buttercup,” won the top title. The Reserve Champion in the class was Brooke Granzow aboard Dressed To Party. Hanah Wiese and Sheza Home Wrecker came in third. Kindra McGraw with Janes Dasher placed fourth. Paulina Martz with Onlythebestchocolate rounded out the top five.
Then, it was time for the highly competitive 3-Year-Old Non-Pro Open Division Western Pleasure Futurity. The Limited Division Finals was held just a few days prior and saw Cathy Starnes aboard Hot Lopin Goodbar win the Congress Champion title. Today, Kristen Galyean rode VS Flatline to a unanimous win in the Open Division of the Non-Pro Futurity.
Stay tuned for the finals of the Junior Western Pleasure, which will take place later this evening.
