APHA is proud to recognize the hard work and leadership of the APHA/Markel Professional Horsemen as they help grow the Paint Horse community. Established in 2016, the Paint Professional Horsemen of the Year award honors a hardworking professional who exemplifies the Professional Horsemen’s code of ethics and serves as a positive ambassador of Paint Horses and the overall equine industry.
Congratulations to Kelly Boles Chapman of Bellevue, Michigan, who earned the honor of 2018 Paint Professional Horsewoman of the Year.

Kelly has been a Paint professional for more than 30 years. She has held an APHA judge’s card for 20 years, and she also holds cards with AQHA, PHBA, WCHA and NSBA. Her participation in the horse industry is vast, ranging from judge, trainer, instructor, exhibitor and beyond. An APHA National Director, Kelly currently serves on the APHA Judges Committee. She also serves as a board member of the American Paint Horse Foundation.
