Join “Paint Strong” by Donating a Gift Basket For APHA World Show Raffle

The APHA World Championship Show is an event full of prizes, cash and celebrating our colorful breed. The World Show is also a place for giving back to the Paint Horse industry; this year’s show will feature a gift basket raffle to support the AjPHA Presidential Project, Paint Strong.
APHA members and regional clubs may donate themed baskets to be raffled at the 2015 APHA World Show. Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 from November 4–8 at the show, and ticket holders may enter the raffle for the baskets of their choosing.
“Donating gift baskets is an easy and fun way for APHA clubs and members to help support our association’s Youth, and purchasing raffle tickets offers double the fun—you’re helping Youth and taking home some special products,” APHA Director of Youth and Amateur Activities Christine Henry said.
Any member, company or club may donate a basket, and the APHA regional club that entices the most raffle tickets for their basket will receive a free one-day sponsorship of the AjPHA Youth Lounge at the 2016 Youth World Show.
Basket Specifics
- Theme your basket—be creative! Ideas include:
- The Grill Master: assorted grilling tools, apron, oven mitts, skewers, etc.
- Paint Show Preparedness Kit: certificate for banding, stall fee waiver, bathing products, boot socks, hair nets, etc.
- Make sure the basket/contents have a combined value of at least $100. Groups with smaller baskets are asked to coordinate and combine.
- Baskets are due to APHA by October 30 if shipped or November 3 if delivered to the World Show.
- Please include a full listing of items in the basket, along with names of the generous donors.

Paint Strong is 2015 AjPHA President Sydney Schmidt’s initiative to create $500 random-draw scholarships for each of APHA’s 14 zones, with the goal of encouraging regional participation and AjPHA membership.
