Like always, Highpoint Performance Horses is abuzz with activity here at the All American Quarter Horse Congress; two full aisleways of horses are being prepared for the three-week long Quarter Horse extravaganza. Today, classes on their schedule include Junior Western Riding, Senior Western Riding, Performance Halter Geldings, and the Non-Pro Hunter Under Saddle Maturity, among others. One of the horses that’s competing in multiple disciplines today is the 2013 NSBA Horse of The Year, Huntin My Zipper.

Just moments ago, Jason Martin rode “Bob” to a win in Junior Western Riding with a score of 226.5, an impressive feat considering this horse has only been showing in the event this year.

“He went to California with Jason after the Arizona [Sun Circuit] in February,” says Bob’s owner, Rebekah Kazakevicius. “He’s been doing it not even a full year yet. He’s done the Green Western Riding and the Junior Western Riding all year, and we’ve been working on some Trail. He really is just so versatile and easygoing.”

Bob’s versatility will truly be put to the test today at the Congress, because he’s also competing in the Maturity Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle with Kazakevicius in the saddle later this afternoon. However, she’s confident her talented, young horse will be up to the task.

“Western Riding has so much forward motion, so if think [the events] compliment each other. It’s good prep.”

Now that Highpoint rider, Beth Case, is busy putting Bob through his Hunter Under Saddle paces, Kazakevicius is headed back to the motorhome to get some marketing homework completed before her upcoming class. A huge benefit on this busy day was the Horse Show Tracker Congress app, which provided Kazakevicius with updated leader listings following each Western Riding run, so she could keep up with the standings while she was back at the stalls preparing Bob for his next event.

We wish this pair the very best of luck in their upcoming classes today!
