IQHYA Cloverdale Show Concludes With 7,200 Entries

While our neighbors down south enjoyed warm temperatures and huge class sizes at the 2015 Texas Amateur State Championship Show, those up north headed to the Indiana Quarter Horse Youth Association Show for equally impressive entry numbers in Cloverdale, April 23-26.

Judges for the show were Jill Newcomb, Sissy Anderson, John Briggs, Stephanie Lynn, Jeff Mellott, and Garth Gooding. For Saturday’s Trail classes, judges were Pete McAlister, Randy Wilson, and Allen Mitchels.

In addition to plenty of qualifying opportunities in multiple disciplines, competitors enjoyed daily random drawings, parties, and just-for-fun classes. Gabby Stringer was the winner of the bike raffle, and Molly Hensley won the Egg Sprint Race with Mackenzie Boone coming in a close second. Click here to watch a video of the fun competition. 

We would be remiss if we didn’t mention a very special occasion that took place over the weekend for the Mark Harrell Horse Shows family. Just seven years ago, while at this very horse show, Mark Harrell and David Pardue received word from an adoption agency that they were now the fathers of a newborn baby boy. Over the weekend, Mikey celebrated his seventh birthday on April 24th surrounded by family and friends with a Star Wars themed birthday party and a new ATV!
